Social competition rules & conditions

The following provides a summary of the rules and conditions that apply to competitions at Sandstorm Beach Club.

General Conditions

  • All players compete at their own risk.
  • The Sandstorm Beach Club provides all necessary equipment and officials, with all matches played in accordance with the latest version of the FIVB Beach Volleyball Rule Book (with necessary amendments), Beach Soccer, Beach Touch, Beachminton and Beach Netbal Rule Regulations.
  • Team Captains are requested to contact Sandstorm Beach Club one week prior to the commencement of each season to confirm their first match time.
  • Junior teams are permitted to compete in the open-age competitions.

Competition Seasons

  • Sandstorm Beach Club operates three competition seasons per year, with each season running for approximately 17 weeks.
  • Please note that a 2-week break exists, with no matches being played over the Christmas-New Year season, and no matches played during the Easter period (Good Friday to Easter Sunday).
  • Games will be played on other selected Public Holidays. These will be advertised when teams receive their Team Draw for the season.

Game Fees

  • All Game Fees are a "Team Fee" and are to be paid, in full, prior to teams taking to the court.
  • Click here for Game Fees.

Team Registration Bond

  • The Team Registration Bond is the equivalent of one game fee paid when nominating the team.
  • The bond secures a place in the competition for the season.
  • When a team completes all its scheduled matches for the season, the bond will be refunded or alternatively transferred to the following season. Any teams not playing in the following season can collect their bond after the completion of Grand Finals for the season in which they are currently playing.
  • Should a team forfeit a game, the bond will be taken as payment for the game and another bond will be payable prior to the teams next scheduled game.

Team Nominations

  • Team Nominations can be lodged at anytime throughout the course of the season.
  • Where possible, teams will be entered into the competition immediately.
  • In the event that a competition is full, or a team does not wish to enter the competition immediately, these teams will be placed on a Waiting List.
  • Team Nominations will not be accepted unless accompanied by a Team Registration Bond.

Membership

  • All players must become Sandstorm Beach Club Members by their third game.
  • The Sandstorm Beach Club Membership entitles you to play at the venue, in any number of teams on any number of nights.
  • Any non-member players playing in their fourth game will incur a penalty against their team of 10 points, and will be unable to participate in any further games until they become Sandstorm Members.
