It’s Round 2 of the new Urban Season and we’re already halfway through the year! Time flies when you play beach volleyball! We had a cracker of an autumn season which climaxed with the really cool season presentations at the Urban Hotel. We trust everyone had fun on the night considering the bar tab went in 30 minutes and most of you couldn’t drive home…
Well it’s now Sandstorm’s 16th season since its doors opened and we’re proud to see so many of you showing your love for the sport by playing in the colder months. We’re trying to keep you warmer with free tea and coffee along with braziers in the lizard lounge on every competition night. Hopefully, one day we’ll be able to heat the sand…
This season will only be 14 weeks long so we can start the summer season earlier. Grand Final Carnival for this season is on Saturday October 2nd
There’s a few exciting stuff on this month with the following events!
- Channel 10 News will be crossing over LIVE to do the weather on Thursday 8th July from 5pm so come along to play some beach volleyball with Nat Cook and enjoy a sausage sizzle! Any Sandstorm member coming along to the live cross over can join the Sandstrom Training Squad for free!
- The first Estero tournament will be held on Friday 9th July held by Dan Carey. The estero beach volleyball tournament is a format originating in Mexico where you get your partner based on your seeding and beach volleyball and a few beers go hand in hand...Tell all your friends, No beach volleyball experience necessary. You just need to know how to party...Call us on 3343 9111 to join in on the action!
- The Queensland Beach Club Classic will return for the second Round on the 7th and 8th of August. Check out www.qbcc.com.au for more info!
