Welcome to the new season at Sandstorm Beach Club! If you are new to the club, here's some some things you should know.  Should you have any other questions, please feel free to read our section on social competition policies or give us a call on 3343 9111.

Grading

The first 5 rounds of the season are grading rounds. The aim of grading is to place teams of similar skill-levels together.  This creates an even competition and more fun for everyone invovled.  Nobody likes a one sided game and we do our best to ensure the teams are evenly matched.

During grading, we look at the results from the week so your team may go up or down a grade depending on how you went.  But don't worry, you keep your ladder points with you.  Because of all these changes during grading season,  the draw is done on a weekly basis and is available on our website on Fridays.  After Round 5, the draw is available at least a week in advance.

Player Logon System

At the Beach Hut counter you'll find a touch screen with your team game and members listed.  Before your game, please logon the players you have competiting in that game.  This is to ensure that come finals time, each team member has played at least 5 of the team games during a season and is a Sandstorm member.  No Natalie Cook ring-ins on Grand Final Carnival so you can win the trophie!

Game Fees

Please pay your game fees before your game and remember that you need to pay as a team.  Sandstorm also offer prepayment options, just ask at the counter.  The advantage to prepaying is that you don't have to bring money every week and it's faster at the Beach Hut counter because all you need to do is use the Player Logon System.

Membership

All players registered in a team must become a member before they play their 4th game.  For full time students it's $25, for adults is $40.  This lasts a full calendar year and allows you to play in as many teams as you want.

Uniforms

Uniforms are required for beach volleyball but penalities are not applied until round 5.  Players may combine styles of tops providing the colour is the same. Any prints or patterns on tops must be of the same design and colour. Numbered tops and tops with player’s names are permissible. For more information, please see our competition policies section.
